Terminal Sequence

Terminal Sequence is an exploration of a speculative near-future where capitalism operates on a quantum level situated beyond human understanding. Set within a hyper-abstracted stock market economy, players are forced to confront their dwindling autonomy by aligning with one of several non-player character (NPC) archetypes. The overabundance of information has dissolved meaning and flattened the public sphere into a universal monoculture where these NPCs serve as surgically implanted personalities necessary for survival.

At its core, the game plays with the concept of lift—a process where capitalism detaches from human activity, thriving instead within autonomous, self-replicating systems of arbitrage and inefficiency. In this exocapitalism value becomes unmoored from productivity, and inefficiency itself becomes a commodity. As players interact with their options of NPCs, they witness the absurd logic of a gamified attention economy built on trend cycles, feedback loops, and algorithmic mimicry beyond any sense of human-centered decision-making.
